Jerry Nikko Cooke of New York City was an attorney with the Wall Street firm, Cheven Keely & Hatzis.
He was also a leader in the Asian Bar Association. As a delegate to the Judicial Review Panel, he
was one of the group who reviews attorneys who want to become judges.
A devoted husband to his wife Michaela, Jerry was just 36 when he joined two other avid climbers for
a trek up Oregon's Mt. Hood in early December 2006. The climberswere trapped by a fierce winter storm
on 10 December when Kelly James made a brief callfrom his cellphone. James' body was found by
rescuers on 22 December. Jerry and fellow climber Brian Hall are presumed dead. The search has been
called off.
He is survived by his wife Michaela, his mother, Maria Kim, and his stepfather, Benny.
